A BIG Thank You! Headshot Portrait Fundraising Event for the Kyrie Foundation – Post-Event Wrap.

Last Friday we hosted a fundraiser at the studio, taking head shot images of participants, with 100% of session fees going towards the Kyrie Foundation. We had a great turnout of generous folks and we had a really great time. It was so much fun to photograph and to raise funds for such a great cause.   I’d like to give an extra big thank you to my hair and makeup artist, Karinna Wurth, who donated her time and talents to give some extra pampering to those who wanted it. We know how to live it up over here!  Our event raised over $300, which is a very small drop in the big bucket of need, but it is definitely a step in the right direction. Along with raising dollars, my goal is to raise awareness of pediatric brain cancer and for the Kyrie Foundation, and their fight to find preventions and a cure. Meet Leslie – Yogini, chantress and opera-lover | Moden Glamour Makeover Portrait Session in Evergreen, Colorado

Leslie Wagner came to my studio last August. We did a makeover glamour session as well as some yoga asana shots for her website. Leslie is a yoga teacher, mother of two sons, former tennis player and all-around super-cool lady. She was kind enough to be the first person I’m interviewing for my blog. Possibly the first person I’ve interviewed, ever. Thanks Leslie! One of Leslie’s earliest memories is of laying in her crib, listening to her mother sing. She herself loves to sing, is an opera fan (surprised?), and has an amazing voice. If you’ve ever joined Leslie for one of her yoga classes, you know what I mean. Her sanskrit chants resonate with depth, meaning and beauty. I jokingly call her Sunday morning class “Leslie-Church” because she is so good at awakening my spiritual side and creates a space of reverence for all the gifts of life.Leslie has been teaching and studying yoga for 35 years and is also a lover of the Sanskrit chants she is a truly gifted chantress. She views teaching as a means to help raise consciousness and to transmit light energy to her students. She believes a teacher is to live as an example, to ‘walk the talk’ and to use moderation in all things. Teaching yoga is not like teaching math or reading, it is more about raising awareness, connecting to people, helping them feel loved and noticed. As a yoga instructor, she’s also put in a place of trust-keeping and as an unofficial therapist. People find that they can really share and open up to her as she is someone who helps to open...

Come n’ get a new profile photo! And help save babies! | Headshot Portrait Fundraising Event for the Kyrie Foundation.

I’d like to invite you all to next week’s special fundraising event at the studio. We’ll be doing 10 minute studio sessions – perfect for updating your headshot for social media profiles, website, business cards, etc. – and Karinna, our makeup artist, is donating her time to do quick makeup and hair touch ups! We’re suggesting a $35 donation for the session fee. Along with the touch-up and session, you’ll receive 2 digital images, sized both for web and printable to 4×6. Other fun products will be available, of course.  So what’s this all about? Aside from a fun way to busy-up the studio mid-winter, this is a fundraiser for a great cause. All session fees will go to the Kyrie foundation, helping to fight pediatric brain cancer, saving the lives of our littlest friends.  So please share this with friends, family and coworkers. We all need to update those profile pics – take advantage of this special event!  Hope to see you Friday! Shoot me a note for more details or to book your session. Friday, Jan 25th from 10 am – 2 pm. Cuteness for the New Year | Children’s Portrait Photography in Evergreen Colorado.

Happy New 2013! I hope everybody is off to a good start and adding some positive new resolutions to better your days. One of my resolutions is to be better about more frequent blogging. It’s fun to share images from shoots, news on upcoming special events, interesting outfit and styling ideas and the like. One of my big plans is to start posting interviews with some of the incredible folks I have the opportunity to photograph so you can get to know them as more than just a pretty face. People are doing amazing things with their lives and have good stories to tell. Look for those coming soon! For now, I’d like to share some images from a recent shoot with a friend’s daughter. She spent most of the shoot in her “cat” persona, so if you listen closely, you might hear some purring. 🙂  Meet Miss Maive! Hair and styling: Karinna Wurth          ...
