Thank you to all of you who came out to support the Evergreen Animal Protective League this past weekend! There were dogs available for adoption, great gifts at great prices, and photos with Santa! It was a gorgeous, sunny day here in Evergreen and the setting for our photos was perfect (kudos to the EAPL design team!). If you’re interested in adopting, there are still many great dogs available. Here are photos from the event and some of these dogs are still looking for a good family and a forever home. Also below is a sampling of our fun shots with Santa and with our beautiful Colorado setting. All the money raised from this shoot goes directly to EAPL, a 100% volunteer organization. Read more about EAPL here and consider how you can help this holiday season!...
Join fellow photographer Melissa Korbe and myself this Saturday at the Bergen Park Fire Station in Evergreen as we photograph your kids – furry and not-furry – with Santa! Each $25 sitting gives you time with the big, jolly guy in the red suit and 3 digital images, emailed to your inbox. All proceeds go to benefit the Evergreen Animal Protective League. They do good work, helping our voiceless friends find forever homes with good families. In fact, you can find yourself a new family member at this event – animals available for adoption will be there tomorrow! Please read more about what EAPL does by clicking HERE. I found my own fur-baby with the help of EAPL! Hope to see you there. Check the flyer below for more details on time and location....
One of the most common questions I get as clients and I work together to plan for their photo session is: What do I wear? This is a simple but really important question and the more thought and preparation that can go into this before the shoot, the better your images will look and the happier you’ll be. And that’s all I really want at the end of the day. Happy You. 🙂 So what DO you wear? The question might be simple, but the answer is not so much. As a starting point, I say: What is your style – be true to it, but take it up a notch. If you’re a jeans and cowboy boots kinda gal, be sure to polish those boots (or use this as an excuse to splurge on those ones you’ve been eyeing for the last year) and wear jeans that flatter your figure. I think a photo session is a great excuse to freshen up your wardrobe – with accessories if nothing else. And consider your session the chance to be playful with your style and have fun. If you dream about wearing a big poufy dress with the guys in your family all wearing tuxes and top hats, do it! That’s awesome (and call me immediately if you haven’t already – I want to be the one to shoot this). Next: What is your intention with your photographs? Will they hang in your formal living room on the mantle of your fireplace? Or will they be in your child’s brightly colored room? Thinking about the location you’ll be displaying your...

On Saturday, November 2nd, the Women of Evergreen Businesses (WEB) group is hosting an event to support our local veterans. They’ve put their lives on the line for us, and now we have a chance to say thank you and show our support for our troops as they make the transition back home. The November 2nd event will raise money to send local participating military families to Project Sanctuary, with retreats in Granby, Colorado. During these retreats, the families will have the opportunity to bond with other military families, they’ll enjoy recreational activities together, take classes that will help them with their relationships and practical day-to-day life skills. Project Sanctuary offers these retreats at NO COST to military families, but they need help raising funds so they can continue. Here’s what YOU can do to help: – Buy a ticket and join us for an amazing evening at Mount Vernon Country Club on Saturday, November 2nd. Tickets are $50 each and include a buffet, live music and silent auction. There will also be speakers to share more about Project Sanctuary and the impact it makes on the lives of vets and their families. Tickets are available for sale at the Wild Bird Store and Mountain View Physical Therapy. – Donate an item for the silent auction or door prize. If you or someone you know would be interested, have them contact me! – Donate directly to Project Sanctuary. Thank you! —————————————— The Power of Statistics Please read below to see how Project Sanctuary truly makes a difference. And the alarming facts about U.S. Service Members, Veterans and Families. This coming January, I’ll be dedicating every Tuesday to a very special cause. 100% of every session fee and 10% of all prints and products purchased will go towards the Kyrie Foundation. The Kyrie Foundation raises funds and awareness for pediatric brain cancer research. Book your Babes for Babies makeover session today. Each session includes the pampering of a full makeover, a studio photoshoot to capture your babe-ness, light snacks, drinks and the option for a same day viewing/ordering appointment (same day includes lunch). We’re also working with some super-generous local businesses to get you extra goodies – a bonus for taking this time for you and to help a great cause. Oh – and did I tell you the Babes for Babies session fee is for TWO people? This means you can bring a friend, sister, mother, coworker, frenemey, neighbor, dentist – whomever you’d like to enjoy some fun, quality time. This makes a GREAT gift. For you and for them, for any reason at all. Call or email to book today. This double session is typically $190, but for this event only, you and your bestie can get the full treatment for $150. And that entire session fee is going to help save our littlest friends. More about the Kyrie foundation (from www.kyriefoundation.org): “In February 2007, Jordan & Lacie Thome’s 17-month-old daughter and only child, Kyrie, was diagnosed with a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET), a rare and voracious malignant brain cancer. During the next nine weeks, their daughter prevailed through several invasive brain surgeries and chemotherapy. However, the first follow-up MRI showed the cancer’s expansive growth throughout...
Tis the season for photographer busy season as everybody realizes they don’t have a good, recent family photo for their Christmas cards. I’m giving you a super-secret hint here: Next year, book this in Summer or Fall, when you’re tan and relaxed and colors are vibrant. It is fun to get the winter shot as well, but mix it up and save your family the mad-rush to your nearest and dearest photog. This year, I did something out-of-the-norm to accommodate many families before the holidays. We set up a couple of days and scheduled family mini sessions. I was surprised how fun it was – high energy, focused family time and great smiles. I don’t recommend this for the littlest ones, who often need more time to get comfortable and warm up in front of a new person, but for the families with older (5+ years) it was perfect. Just enough time to get great shots before anybody has a chance to get tired and/or jaded. Enough talking! Proof is in the pudding, and I’d love to share a few of my favorite photos from the event. Thanks for visiting! (P.S. I’ll add a few more favorites later after I finish up edits) [seo_gallery id=”216″ size=”medium”]...
